Tate Modern

Source

It has been a considerable amount of time since I last visited to the Tate in London. The architecture of the building is quite breathtaking and it is in a lovely spot along the embankment overlooking the Thames. Once inside the bright and airy art gallery there is plenty of light and window seating to enjoy the views and of course, people watch since Londerners love this pastime.

Even though modern art is not to my taste I do find inspiration behind the creativity. Putting a collage together and claiming it is a masterpiece makes me incredibly skeptical and many a time I hear people say, that they could have created that. But they didn't, did they? Someone else did and they shamelessly exhibited it, but guess what? It gets people talking whether you love it or hate it and to me that is what modern art is about, creating conversation.

However, there are some classical pieces shown at the Tate which appeals to me more and currently there is a paid exhibition of Lichenstien. Really there is art for everyone at the gallery and I can't wait to go.

A trip to London this week and I will be heading towards the Tate to see its latest and greatest. Let's see what rattles me enough to swear or something that I love and want. It is all good fun and I will post results soon.
