My new love in my life is David Hockney or I should say I am in love with his art. Someone mentioned his name when I was in London and I had heard of him but never looked at his work. After my meeting I went into the book store next door and on the table in front of me was one of his books, A Bigger Picture. I looked at it and was amazed. It is similar to the style of work I aspire to, bright, colourful, large.
Hockney is currently displaying work at the Royal Academy, I was a little annoyed to discover his work later rather than earlier since I happened to be in London and could have gone to Royal Academy between meetings. As it happens his work is being displayed for some weeks yet so I have time to venture back into the 'big smoke'.
In preparation for Valentines Day my new love is Hockney's work.
